We think that’s great as long as you don’t plan on being ranked well or if you don’t mind spending hours of time, that should be spent on your business, trying to squeeze the content and graphics into a design that was not made specifically for your business needs, wants, and goals. Oh and did I mention the fact that 100 other people have the same design as you. Wow that’s unique, and shows your prospects that your are different then Joe Blow down the road (sarcasm).

Wow It’s A Great Website Design, But Why Can’t The Search Engine Spiders Read It?
When our programmers, SEO experts and designers analyzed the code, we found while most of it was clean, most if not all of the designs were made with tables, and there were crazy java scripts within the code that would definitely bog down the search engines and inhibit your site from being truly optimized. Tables are an old way to design websites and render differently then CSS. For example, if you have ever gone to a site that was image heavy and done with tables you can see each image loads separately. This is because tables are made to be used for tabular data, (imagine that) and not for images because they load from the top down, where as CSS loads quickly all at one time.

Our SEO and Website Design Team analyzed the weight of the sites because we noticed that template websites were heavy on graphics. We found that most of the graphics contained text rendered within them (graphic text) which is text that can’t be read by the search engines because it’s rendered with the image. Having a graphically heavy website adds “weight” to the site, which is a bad thing because the heavier the site the longer it takes to render a page and the longer your prospects have to wait for the page to come up.

The SEO or lack there of, for professional website templates is not a surprise because they are done in mass quantities will no regard to SEO. This mass production poses a couple more problems, not only are the websites heavy, have bad code, and take time to implement, but you then have to go back and hire someone to do search engine optimization on the gorgeous sites (sarcasm). Now don’t get me wrong Search Engine Optimization is one of our services, but we try our hardest to not muck up the web with bad sites and spam sites when they are being designed.
